Port guide - Cap d’Ail

Port Cap d’Ail is often thought to be one of Monaco’s harbours, due to its proximity to the Principality and the fact it is an extension of the Monagasque district of Fontvieille. Cap d’Ail harbour is in fact in France, but right on the Western border of Monaco to the point that the only way to drive into the marina is through the Principality.

Cap d’Ail harbour is a charming alternative for those Monaco residents looking to get away from the saturated ports of Fontvieille and Port Hercules. The harbour was originally designed to moor boats from 6m to 20m length, but the outer basin has been progressively rearranged to tend to the needs of larger yachts and it is now home to yachts up to 60m.

Although not the prettiest port on the Cote d’Azur, Cap d’Ail harbour has a range of port facilities to satisfy most boat and yacht owners. It has a fuelling quay next to the Capitainerie at the entrance, a ship chandler, two hotels, restaurants, and of course the Navimarine shipyard. It is 2 minutes walk from the Monaco heliport, adn the Monaco shopping centre is just a 5 minute walk away.
